Well, for all purposes, the guy is confined to living in Switzerland or some other non-extradition country for the rest of his life, which, in a sense, is a prison in itself... Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Switzerland had sought records that the judge in charge of the case had in a meeting on September 19, 1977 assured the parties that the 42 days spent by Polanski in a psychiatric ward was the entire jail term that he was condemned to.
But the US Justice Department turned down the request for these records, saying that a court ruling required that they be kept secret, the statement said.
I think he should be in jail as much as most, but this sounds like a fumble by the US Justice Dept.
