The Great Jones County Fair

Anyone goin this year? I'm gonna be running the stage crew this year so if you see a big burly guy with shoulder length hair wearing a stage shirt thats me. Hopefully one of the acts is sponsored by some sort of alcohol, thats the best. haha

Get a haircut.

If I can make it through the rest of the summer its gonna go to locks of love when it gets long enough.

I don't think I've been to the GJCF since my folks took us to see the Statler Bros. in 1978.

I wasn't even born then. The fairgrounds has changed quite a bit in the past few years.

i know the kids are going with grandma and grandpa.
lock of love, i have done that twice, its pretty cool.

I fully expected this response from someone. The funny thing is I had to figure out if it was their 1978 performance or their 1973 appearance before I could post.

I tried to do it before but the long hair was bugging me too much. But, I am at about the same length as I was before and I'm doin pretty good. Trying to talk my buddy with long hair to do it with me.

we will be there at some point. went to the Linn County fair last Thursday to the Firehouse show. They still sound like they did in 1991. awesome!

guessing my brother is working one of the gates again.
i did a.m. clean up one year, found a nice wad of cash on the ground :smile:

I do have a real job I'm just taking a week off to work* there all week.

*work during fair time means drink

I've never heard of the Jones County Fair. Is it anything like the Clay County Fair in Spencer, Iowa?
