dave grohl plays Band on the Run

The Beatles and Foo Fighters are my two all time favorite bands and while this is a Wings song and John is my favorite Beatle, it still rocks. Dave is playing with Pauls band and i love it. thought i'd share.

I didn't see this performance on the night of the award. But, a while back, in a different performance, Grohl played drums - with Paul - on "I Saw Her Standing There", and the look on his face and the enthusiasm, you could tell he was diggin it.

Lennon was also my favorite - especially in the early days, before he dove off the deep end. 'A Hard Day's Night' is his album, and I think it is the greatest pop-rock album. At the time it came out, nobody on the planet was making music like that.

Best Dave Grohl cover is this:

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

I typically like his stuff but I didn't really dig his Band on the Run rendition.

Tiny Dancer was pretty good and I agree with his "Almost Famous" comments. Too funny.

Foos do a great cover of Baker Street, as well.

Dave Grohl is a Rock God. Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Pro-Bot, Played Drums for both Queens of the Stonage Albums, played Drums for the Tenacious D self titled CD AND the new songs for their Pick of Destiny Sound track.

I would LOVE to meet him. One of the most talented musicians of the last 25 years no doubt!

Grohl is definitely a rock god. An underrated musician over the past few years, but I would argue without blinking that his body of work exceeds his former band mate in terms of quality/prowess (although clearly less influential).

Well to be fair, Grohl's career has lasted a little longer than his bandmate.

    And who's fault is that?

What makes Grohl so exceptional is his across the board talent. Not only is he a great songwriter/vocalist, he's a HELL of a good drummer. Just listen to the work he did for QOTSA. His drumming is a big reason why Songs for the Deaf is my favorite QOTSA album. Not to mention he's been involved in such a wide variety of music. Compare "Virginia Moon" by the Foos to Probot. Pretty wild difference.
