How exactly does one person use two seats? Isn't there an armrest in between them? I always thought those armrests were built in to the seats.

The airlines are really put in a tough spot with fat people. How do you decide who is too fat for 1 seat? Maybe they should create something similar to the bag dimension thing. If you can't fit inside those dimensions than you have to buy an extra seat.

Although some of these seats are way too small. I'm only 6'1 and my knees always hit the seat in front and then the person reclines.....

Then you have the problem with kids on the plane.

In most planes I've flown on the middle armrest can fold back in between the seats.

There is a world of difference between leg room and lateral room. I am 6'2" and when I have to fly economy my knees bumb seat as well. That I can live with. When a fatso is all grinding ***, leg and thigh against me and they are 1/2 in my seat it ticks me off. I padi for my seat they shoudl have to fit in theirs.

I'm also amazed at the number of people that "have" to use the bathroom on a plane. I swear my last trip to vegas every single person went at least once and multiple people went twice. It's like a 3 hour flight. Couldn't you have went before you left the airport?

The arm rest goes up and down and can be "folded" up between the two seat backs.

OK, in that case. The average gate at the airport today looks much like a run of the mill DMV, or WalMart... A lot of the people flying look like they don't have two nickels to rub together. Do the airlines accept food stamps now? or is that just an average cross section of current Americana?
