Buying new tires in Des Moines...

Where did you end up going in Des Moines? Looking to replace all four tires and just wondering where to start.

Costco is probably tough to beat.

I went to big O on 100th. I called them and asked if they would meet the Tirerack.com price for the tires I wanted. They did. There is an additional install fee and disposal fee but you get free repairs and rotations for the life of the tires.

Tire prices have really gone up as of late. I forget the reason.

Give Earle's a call. They have good service and great prices.

Re: Buying new tires in Des Moines...

Tires Plus is usually pretty competitive and not sure what it is now but for a pretty minimal charge you can add the lifetime rotate and balance plan to them which will save you hundreds of dollars down the road. Four tires rotated and balanced on average probably around $50 or more each time.

I have the tires for life deal at Karl's where I am required to rotate my tires there every 6,000 miles and balance them every 12,000. Gets pricey but considering that my tires are 18" Goodyear Eagles 235/50R18 that aren't cheap and would probably run me nearly $1000 to replace all 4 so I make sure I keep on the schedule there so I get 4 new Eagles free of charge when they wear down

I would strongly suggest the Flatt Tire Center. They are on the corner of SE 14th and Maury in Des Moines.

Nothing but good things to say about Big O. Fantastic service and very reasonable pricing.

Costco. Free lifetime rotation, good prices, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to put tires on your car.

Definitely Costco. Even if you don't have a membership, you will save the amount on 4 tires alone to pay for the $50 membership. And they will fill and rotate them for life. Every other time I am in there I pull up and they make sure that the tires are all inflated to where they should.
