First date..outdoorsey ideas ... got any?

Ok, so theoretically I may be heading out on a date this thursday. The I-cubs are out of town and I'm looking for some outdoor date activities. I know it's gonna be hot too but any creative ideas would be awesome. Thanks guys and I'll be back if goes well for 2nd date ideas :D

Probably too suggestive for a first date, but if you could couch it in terms of science/outdoors, it may be very rewarding...

The Perseid meteor showers are this week. Go to a park, get a blanket, and see what happens!

The correct answer is to take her Frisbee Golfing.

Everyone loves frisbee golfing, and it's a perfect first date. You basically are just hanging out for an hour or two, bad/good throws give a perfect opportunity for witty banter if you don't have much in common to talk about, and it perfectly lends itself to getting ice cream or something simlar afterwords.

Plus even if it is ackward and doesn't go well, at least you got to go Frisbee Golfing.

I like where you're going with this. But to really get the full view of the sky you need to drive out in the country somewhere to get away from the light pollution. I'm guessing she'd probably call 911 half way out there. But I do love me some meteors. Already saw quite a few this weekend.

That's true...that's what I'm doing, but my "date" is going to be my 9-year old son. You can still see some in the city, but it just wouldn't be as spectacular.

Frisbee golf and miniature golf are always good ideas. It doesn't feel uncomfortable or awkward if you don't hit it off right away. The witty banter can also be a pretty good ice-breaker. If nothing else, it at least allows you to see if your date has a sense of humor. IMO, no sense of humor, no second date.
