Who here has their birthday off from work?
So today is my birthday, and an hour and twenty minutes into my workday I am wishing I had taken the day off. You get one day a year to justify doing whatever the hell you want, and I am spending the majority of that day behind a desk looking at a computer screen. That got me thinking, who all takes their birthday off work?
Edit: Sorry about the thread title-- English isn't my thing.

Re: Who Here Their Birthday Off Work?
I take the Friday off of my birthday week. A random Wednesday or Thursday is useless.

Re: Who Here Their Birthday Off Work?
Last year, on my birthday, I was in an airplane that had little to no heat, flying around with two handheld GPS trackers with the Illinois DNR counting deer. Swear the pilot was either drunk or insane.

I'm not 12. Birthdays are essentially just another day.

I don't take off my Birthday. I'm to the age where I just don't give a **** that I got 1 year older.
PS: Happy Birthday!

I don't get birthdays. You didn't accomplish anything.

You don't have to be 12 to enjoy your birthday. I love celebrating my birthday!

Re: Who here has their birthday off from work?
I'd take a week off work around my birthday if it meant I didn't have people I never talk to coming over to wish me a happy birthday. I love it that most of my co-workers tend to forget my birthday until mid-afternoon. I get more work done that way, and still get some birthday treats.
I kinda agree with khaal53. Birthdays, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter. Not so much fun now that I'm an adult.

Re: Who here has their birthday off from work?
I used to take my birthday off every year, but I switched jobs a few years ago, now December is our busiest time and I can't justify taking the day off any longer.

My current employer buys a cake (or pie, our choice) for employees on their birthday. It's a small company, and something we look forward to.

No, I take off around the 4th of July and a week and a half around RAGBRAI so I can't really justify more time during July when the guys who work for me need to take some time off as well.
