    Begin the long drive home to Iowa for a 10 day visit. Stopping and sleeping in Ogallala, Nebraska tonight.

    Good choice. We stopped in North Platte on our last trek. I don't recommend it. Or the Royal Colonial Inn anyway. Breakfast at a place called Roger's Fine Foods is recommended, however.

    Personally I would have found a way to bypass Nebraska altogether; regardless of time constraints, money, energy, etc.
