Which color is Cardinal?

but which "red" in the I-State is cardinal?

I think it's the lighter color one (in the logo). The darker is meant to look like a shadow.

There's a university marketing page that clearly defines branding and colors. I can't locate it at the moment.

I don't know, but this should be the new midcourt logo for ISU hoops....and hoops only. Many B12 schools incorporate the state outline and we should too! Looks sweet. Go Clones.

P.S. This is the Cyclone Tailgate Tour logo which I gave JP an Idea about at an ISU-Missouri Football Game a couple years ago. Oh man. Did he use my idea? Looks like it. Do I care I didn't get recognition? No...it's sweet...just use it!!

Here is the official university palate, but I'm not sure these colors apply to athletics

First off, you do know that the bird is named after the color and not the other way around right? You should have put a picture of a Catholic Cardinal in your post if you really wanted an example of what the cardinal color is supposed to look like.

This logo is great. Incorporates the entire state of Iowa. It looks like a perfect fit for our new center court. Only in hoops though. Many Big 12 schools try to incorporate their state's outline....I have been wanting this for years...back to the Big 8 years.

I like it as long as it's not obnoxiously huge (that's what she said.) I can't stand KU's and aTm's logo that stretch from 3 point line to 3 point line. Somebody's compensating for something there.

I agree. Don't make it too huge like Texas' or A&M's. I think Missouri's is really good. Indiana's is good. That is how big our's should be. I REALLY hope they do it. Plus, outside fans really "connect the dots" so to speak with the "I-State" logo. "Oh, its Iowa." Cool.
