My roomates and I spent alot of time there, I met a 4 yr girlfriend there, and made friendships with the other employees I still have today. I just hope Kathy can land on her feet.

How did a four-year-old get into the bar and how are you not in jail?

Although we've never met, we've killed some braincells together. The $5 bottomless cup on Wednesday nights was the best thing goin' back in the early '90's and my first shots on my 21st birthday were done at The Fox. I absolutely loved that place. Even though I haven't been there for 4-5 years, it will always hold a lot of special (albeit foggy) memories for me. RIP.

I agree that these places should all move to West Ames, lots of good things going on out there. Well, yes, but then our beloved ISU did the same thing when they put the Iowa State Center on the flood plain for Squaw Creek.

Ah that sucks.
I'd think they could get some money to move and keep the franchise open....

Small world indeed. During the 93-94 school year my friend Steve and I lived out the back door of the Fox (when we weren't living in it). We lived in the SE corner of the second building, 'second' floor. I could see out my bedroom window, through the back door, across the dance floor, all the way to the bar and see who was working.
Too bad about Happy Joe's too. Spent a lot of time there at the lunch buffet as well.
