Have you tried to run antivirus at all yet? Do you have an antivirus program?
1. Download malewarebytes on a computer that's not infected onto a flash drive
2. Restart infected computer into safe mode.
3. Plug in flash drive and execute malwarebytes and let it do its thing.
4. See what happens.
Bul!$h!t....it got rid of all the problems that noone else or any other downloads could fix.
That computer runs like it did 3 years ago.It even got rid of all the trojans I got from this site.
And...with what he installed...it blocks all the viruses from this site.
I couldnt be happier.
What virus do you have? What is your computer doing?
Follow IcSyU's directions, I would bet this would take care of it. If not, try Combofix.
Just trust me...unless you're using a really good friend who you compensate in beer or something, you're getting robbed blind. Fixing computers is extremely easy if you have a couple tools at your disposal and know that in normal startup you can't really fix much (which is where most people fail miserably....safe mode is your friend!).
I bit the bullet on our desktop as it was having some start up problems and had the Geek Squad repair it. They should us what was wrong and also had 3 viruses that they were able to remove. I also run malware software religiously every couple of weeks. It cost me $100 for it.
As long as there isn't **** popping up all the time, or virus protection freaking out, the computer is probably fine to download from. If it allows you to download it, its probably fine. Its when you can't open or execute anything that you need to be worried and find a clean computer. I've got a flash drive with malwarebytes and Spybot S&D and a couple other programs for crap like that just for computers that decide to freak out.
Yes, it's called a vaccine. Made from attenuated viruses. :wink:Quote:
I've always been curious, can you also save a human with a virus???
Added thing I would do: Avast antivirus- do a boot time scan.
If you have an idea what is plaguing your computer it helps too as there are more specific steps that can be taken to eliminate your problem.
Bleeping Computer - Computer Help and Discussion is a great resource if you still have problems.
Very good start there but for real buggers I would run combofix as well. Keep in mind combofix is a very powerful (read as can be dangerous if you mess with it while its working) tool. Go to combofix.org and look for the download. This program needs you to shut off any antivirus program to work correctly but once you start it just let it go. It is very easy to do. Just don't do anything on your computer until a notepad window comes up with a log of what it did. It is not done until that. So it may restart your computer and it may look like its done but don't do anything until that notepad window comes up with a log.
I've had some nasty bugs on my puter and this has worked everytime. Malwarebytes and combofix should be on your computer or available at all times. They aren't an Anti-Virus which means they won't prevent anything but are very good at removing.
I would try this before reformatting. Good luck and if you have any questions just ask.
Here is the download page for combofix. The link will take you to another page ( I think it's on Bleepingcomputer.com) but this page also has the link to download Malwarebytes.
