AMES, Iowa – Wendy Dillinger, who ranked among the winningest active NCAA Division III soccer coaches nationally at Washington University in St. Louis after an impressive collegiate and professional playing career, was named as the new head coach at Iowa State Thursday. Senior associate athletics director Dr. Calli Sanders made the announcement, welcoming a coach that posted an 86-25-8 record while taking Washington to four NCAA Tournaments, three University Athletic Association (UAA) outright team crowns and a co-association championship.
