AMES, Iowa- Iowa State sophomore Lashawn Wright was ISU's frontrunner in the opening day at the 2008 ISU Track & Field Open. Inside the Lied Recreational Center, Wright blew past the competition in the 200-meter dash, crossing the line in 24.49 seconds, seven-one hundredths of a second ahead of the runner-up. ISU's short sprinter continues to improve with each meet, once again setting a personal-best time.
