AMES, Iowa – Iowa State football student-athlete Alex Alvarez has been honored as one of 112 nominees nationally, among all levels of college football, for the 22-man Al1state AFCA All-Good Works Team. Alvarez, a senior from League City, Texas, started all 13 games at center for the Cyclones last season. The team, which recognizes collegiate football players for their selfless contributions to various community projects and services, will be announced in late September.
