Jacobs To Demand Trade
Brandon Jacobs is rumored to have demanded a trade from the Giants, and apparently the Packers have inquired about the Bills' Marshawn Lynch. I would rather have Jacobs, and the Packers could probably get him for a lower price. What do you guys think?

Lynch is good on the field and trouble off of it.
Jacobs is kind of a mystery. You wouldn't think that a 265lb running back could disappear in games, but he manages to do it sometimes.

Wouldn't be surprised if some video eventually comes out and shows what really happened.

Re: Jacobs To Demand Trade
A trade for a known commodity is not something Ted Thompson has done before, wouldn't expect anything to happen.
If Jackson struggles for a few games however, then I could see them pulling the trigger with this season's expectations.

I think Green Bay is a low-key enough place that he could stay out of trouble hopefully. And I am not sure Jacobs is that much better. The Packers wanted Lynch when he came out in the draft but Buffalo took him 3 or 4 picks ahead of him. Jacobs running style seems too similar to Ryan Grant's for me to see the Packers wanting him (thinking next year or so).
Jacobs also has taken quite a beating because of his running style and typically those guys don't last all that long. See: Marion Barber. If the Packers could work a deal with the Bills for Lynch, and get him for a reasonable cost, I would like that more than Jacobs both this year and down the road.

That was the reason I was thinking it would be nice to have him for the short term, but yes long term he is very similar to RG.

Yeah, he definitely fits the Packers' one-cut type running scheme. If they were to make a move though, I would rather it pay some dividends beyond this year. Lynch can come in and upgrade the RB position right now, and then be a change-up back to Grant in the future. Jacobs fits now and would be an upgrade as well, but next year and beyond I think the Packers stay committed to Grant and the two are very similar.
And to that point, I could see Jacobs becoming frustrated with the Packers the same way he is now with NY when he would have to sit behind Grant. Where-as Lynch is basically on his way to #3 on the depth chart with the Bills so I would think he would be glad to come in and be #2 in Green Bay.

Either back would be a nice option. I haven't seen the stats for the Buffalo game for Jackson, but he didn't seem to do much in the games I've seen him in.

I dont know for sure stats on him alone but I know the Packers gained like 62 yards on 20 carries as a team and I also know that John Kuhn, the fullback, was the leading rusher, so that should tell you about how well Jackson did. He seems like not much more than a pretty good 3rd down back. He will work out enough to keep the D honest I think because they are gonna chuck it all over anyway, but once the cold comes in Lambeau later in the year I would like to have a solid option at RB.

Re: Jacobs To Demand Trade
Lynch is a better option than Jacobs. There has to be a free agent out there that can be effective and they won't have to give up anything to get him.
