    Re: KC Chiefs

The Chiefs/Colts game will be on KCCI and will be the primary early game on CBS, meaning a good portion of the country will have it. Looking at week 6, it's a toss up as in addition to the Chiefs/Texans game on CBS, so is Dolphins/Green Bay game.

Does the NFL not restrict affiliates from streaming games online? I know baseball does (or at least the station is supposed to block it).

    Re: KC Chiefs

The more I think about, the more i'm worried that KCCI will choose Miami/GB over Houston/KC for week 6.

Following the Chiefs win on MNF, I e-mailed KCCI and asked if there was any way of them replacing the MN game with the KC game and their response was that "this was one of 2 times that MN would be on CBS and there would be other opportunties (sp?) to show the Chiefs."

That said, the following is the Chiefs remaining schedule and what I think their chances are that the Chiefs will be shown locally in the DSM Market.

    Week 5 @ Indy - 100% chance

Week 6 @ Houston - No chance, it's Green Bay's only appearance on CBS in 2010

    Week 8 Buffalo - Yes

Week 9 @ Oakland - 50/50 here. Oakland is a bad team and more than likely will be blacked out in Oakland and CBS also has Indy @ Philadelphia as the other late game.

Week 10 @ Denver 3:05. I don't recall KCCI ever airing an NFL game at 3:05. No way KCCI passes up the chance to broadcast their early evening newscast (cha-ching cha-ching), not to mention starting 60 Minutes and their precious 10pm news on time.

Week 11 Arizona This will be a Fox telecast and GB/MN is on Fox at the same time. No way the Chiefs are shown in Des Moines

Week 12 @ Seattle another 3:05 start, see week 10 for why this won't be shown in Des Moines

    Week 13 Denver - Yes

    Week 14 @ San Diego - Yes

    Week 15 @ St. Louis - Yes

Week 16 Tennessee CBS also has Jets/Bears, see week 6 for why the Chiefs won't be shown in Des Moines

    Week 17 Oakland - Yes

Based on previous history and what KCCI told me why MN/Dolphins was aired over KC/Browns, I count only 6 Chiefs games that are "no doubters" that will be seen in Des Moines on either KCCI or KDSM.

Edit: I could possibly see NBC using their "flex option" and the TN game being moved to NBC, but both teams would have to be the hunt for a divisional title for that to happen.

I might be wrong but I believe that the NFL and the two networks assign the games to its affiliates but an affiliate and make a case for a change. I don't think affiliates have free will when it comes to deciding what game the network allows them to show.

That would be correct, but ratings and national advertisng revenue means more. Case in point, In week 9, the Kansas City and Topeka markets and possibly Omaha may be the only one's in the country who will have the Chiefs/Raiders game on their local CBS affiliate as that Indy/Phily game is looming to be HUGE.

KDSM does have a viewer poll on their website, but most of the time the games that viewers pick would've ended up being shown by KDSM anyway.

Given previous history, I would be stunned if either one of the Chiefs 3:05 games are shown on CBS. Not to mention that about the only markets who receive the 3:05 games are the team's home & secondary markets (which Des Moines isn't a Chiefs secondary market, only Topeka is).

Bumping this post. The link above is an official free stream. I've listened to it a couple times already this season while working on my basement remodel Sunday afternoons and it comes in clear and doesn't cut out.

I'm assuming you're thinking of the 3:15 doubleheader games. The 3:05 games are televised by the network that isn't showing the DH and are seen in a very small section of the country.
