Les Miles is THE WORST coach in regards to time management in the country. I have seen more boneheaded time management from him than I have all other coaches combined.

He got a lot of run out of taking a team to the finals out of a horrible Western Conference. At best he was the 4th-5th best point guard of his era. Elway was a great NFL QB for sure, but I think he's often elevated to "greatest of all time" discussions when he really doesn't belong with some others there.

Les Miles really isn't overrated at all. Most people are thinking he will be fired sometime soon.
Agree on Tom Brady actually. I have never understood the logic that players somehow get better if they win a Superbowl. Doesn't that mean that they just have better players around them? Championships shouldn't be the only thing that matters when trying to decide how good a player is.
Why doesn't Elway belong in that discussion? He probably was one of the best pure talents that have ever played the position and he constantly was winning games with sub par teams until his last two years when he was finally surrounded with some weapons.Quote:

In his prime the guy was a freakish athlete for his size causing all kinds of chaos on nearly every play. He was battling injuries two years ago, missed last season, now looks pretty solid again this year. In his prime I think he had the best lateral movement I've seen from a linebacker, he was like a magnet to every play.

Too bad Phil Jackson didn't win 6, he is on 11 and counting. Yeah, he has had great talent around him, but as the GMac era should have shown all of us, the ability to manage egos and maintain team chemistry is as much a part of successful coaching at top levels as is managing the x's and the o's. When you get to the ego level of a Bryant or a Shaq and you can make that work and win, you are a great coach, period.Quote:

The western conference wasn't that bad that year. The problem was the greatest single team in a year in the NBA was playing in the east. Everyone was amazed that Chicago last any games at all that year. It was ridiculous. Any other year that Sonics team has a chance to win the title. Payton may not have been as good as advertised, but I respect a guy that built his legacy playing defense, not hurling the ball up from all places on the court.Quote:

Overpaid, yes...not overrated. Damn nice guy but in way over his head in the SEC at LSU.
