yeah, sure wish the Ray's wouldn't have won the East so we could have at least made it to the ALCS.

The Pohlads (Twins owner) has a net worth of about $3.1 billion. Steinbrenner was $1.3 billion.

Obviously they can do it but I just find it annoying they pick all the best teams in that sport to cheer for.

It's called the luxury tax and the yanks have been paying it for quite a while now. They problem comes not from teams spending too much, but rather teams not spending enough. MLB should have a salary floor to force teams to pay for more talent.

Also, in the past 30 years, 20 different teams have won World Series titles, compared to 14 different teams winning the NFL Super Bowl, 13 winning the NHL Stanley Cup and 9 winning the NBA championship. While a top tier payroll increases a team's chances of making the playoffs, it does not result in teams consistently winning championships.
Don't confuse hope for a plan.

I hate it. My roomates "teams" seem to win a championship every year.

No one said that the yankees suck. Just said that I hated them. Big difference.

I was talking about half the stadium cheering "YANKEES SUCK" when the Twins were down 4-2.

That is just a silly comment. If Berkman strikes out, you have one out and Posada on first. Very unlikely that Gardner is still bunting in that situation. For you to suggest the inning would have played out the same is just plain silly. It changed the dynamic of the inning.

However......it is unlikely that inning made much difference. The Twins simply can not come up with a hit when they need too. The Yankees are clearly in their heads and the better team. Sucks to say it. And I hope like hell that the Rangers smoke them in the ALCS. If not them, then the Phillies.

You do realize that's how he gets on half the time correct?

And they won't win the series. Philly has that taken care of.

    Correct.

I hate the Yankees more than anyone, but in both games you never got the feeling that Minnesota was going to win. The Yanks just own the Twins. For whatever reason, they do. It sucks.

Meh, Twins have had their chances, just haven't broken thru. My only major ump complaint was that CC had an appreciably larger strike zone in game 1 than Liriano.

I really think Gardy needs to go. Winning the AL Central isn't that big of deal. Time for a change and win some freakin playoff games.
Very important lesson learned... NEVER pass up the opportunity to acquire a bottle of Templeton Rye... NEVER.
