fantasy football trade
just pulled off a trade in my $ league. wanted to get those of you who play thoughts.
gave up garcon and jonathon stewart for cedric benson
10 team league and we start 3 wr and i also have andre johnson, calvin johnson, and greg jennings (with lance moore and danny almendola as 4 and 5 now).
my rb are arian foster, legarette blount, addai, and pierre thomas and now benson.
this leaves me w/flexibility on my rbs that i didn't have before(addai and thomas are always hurt), but now i don't have a solid backup wr in case 1 of my 3 studs goes down. anyway, just wanted to see what you ffb gurus think.

Re: fantasy football trade
Don't think I would've made the trade, but then again I am not much for trades in fantasy football.
Stewart will be starting at least this week and maybe next. Who knows, maybe he will go off and become productive again. And Andre Johnson isn't exactly healthy right now.

ya and andre hasnt been healthy for awhile now but here's his stats the last 3 weeks:
5 for 95
8 for 138 and a td
7 for 106 and a td
i thought the same about the Daily Show, but D-Willy didn't play last week either and JStew went 15 carries for 30 yds. Carolina is aweful. My RB situation was pretty bleak, but i picked up Blount a week early and actually started him on Sunday to the tune of 22 fantasy points so it's not a deal i had to do, but i think it strengthens my team from a matchup standpoint-as long as none of my top 3 wrs miss any time.

Re: fantasy football trade
I have benson in my league and he's real hit and miss. Not really someone you can rely on. It doesn't help that the Bengals kinda suck too. Hopefully he gets us some monster weeks coming up. I don't think you lost much with stewart. I'd definitely rather have benson.

Re: fantasy football trade
I have Jones-Drew, Moreno and Benson.
Each week I pick the wrong two to start. I always have one of those three go off for crazy points while riding the pine. Benson was good until the bye. Probably a wise choice, though.

Re: fantasy football trade
agree on him being hit and miss, but it will be nice to have flexibility depending on matchups. i wasn't ever going to play garcon except in week 9 as a bye fill in for jennings so at least i got someone i will actually use a few weeks. addai sounds like he's gonna be out awhile and it's not sounding like frenchy is gonna play anytime soon. blount had a huge game, but it's only 1 game. hope it works out.

Re: fantasy football trade
Benson is a feature back who gets 20 carries a game. I like it.

Re: fantasy football trade
I think you gave up too much. With all the WR (&TE) corp injuries the colts have, I really think Garcon is going to be a very good FF player the rest of the season, even though he didn't do too much against Houston last weekend.
I would have possibly done Garcon for Benson straight up, but I think you gave up too much for Benson.
Are there any good players available on the waiver wire now that you have an open roster spot? I'd suggest taking a look at Jordy Nelson (GB) this week. With the WR injuries on GB (Driver), and the Packers playing Dallas, I think Nelson could have a good week and should be available.

JStew was the odd man out-it was either cut him or dangle him out there to make the trade more appealing to the other guy. and i agree about garcon being a solid play the rest of the way but who do you bench for him out of the following-andre johnson, calvin johnson, greg jennings?

Re: fantasy football trade
I think Blount is the real deal. I got beat by 5 points last week because my opponent started him. So I watched that game and he is a power back that can move. For the next few weeks, Garcon is going to be as good or better than Jennings IMO, with all the injuries in Indy. I would not have made this move, I think you gave up too much, and didn't upgrade too much at RB.
I made the same type of deal earlier in the year because I had 5 quality WR's. So I traded Jennings. Now Moss is a disaster for me, and I have one on a bye. All of the sudden out of 5 quality WR's I don't have 3 to start. Moral of the story, can never have to many quality WR's. -
Re: fantasy football trade
I agree with most of the posts. I would have kept Garcon because he should have a great year with Collie and Clark being out and Wayne seeing some double teams. This year Benson can only be trusted if he has a decent matchup.
I have a question on a trade I'm about to make, since the discussion is winding down. I'm considering giving up Tomlinson and Marshall for Andre Johnson. The reason I'm considering doing this is because I can't consider Marshall a #1 WR this year, and therefore, I don't have one. I have Foster, Peterson, T. Jones, and Blount as backs, so I can afford losing LT. I have Ward, D. Jackson, Marshall, and M. Williams (TB) for WRs. Jackson might be able to be considered a #1 with Vick back though. We do have 2 WRs, 2 RBs, and a WR/RB position in our league. I'm sick of Marshall putting up 7 points a week and really want a true #1 WR, but my only concern is AJ's health. Thoughts?
Edit: What if I did T. Jones and Marshall for A. Johnson?
