First Trip to the MetroDome
Hey Everyone,
I am making my first trip up to the MetroDome this weekend for the Bills game. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on when I should arrive, where to park and the tailgating. I would appreciate any advice at all.
Thanks!

Park at Mall of America and take the train in. Much cheaper than the parking options downtown.
Oh, and get ready to feel like you got the deepest thigh bruises from the armrests that you have ever had in your life...
Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this. -

Cue the Metrodome bathroom jokes....
The only bigger turnoff than finding out a woman smokes, is finding out she's a Husker fan. -

Have fun going to the bathroom at the metrodome. They have beds in there now since Hawk fans get funky in there.
Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

Re: First Trip to the MetroDome
I have Vikings season tickets. We normally get there around 10:00 for the plaza activities. Stop by the dunk tank and the grandstand. Parking starts to get scarce about an hour before the game if you want to park close by. There are ramps close to the dome but are tough to leave after the game. I prefer to park around the Hennepin Medical Center just a block or so from the dome in one of the $15 lots by Portland Avenue.
If you get there early enough you can park on the street by the hospital or north of the dome. It will cost around $8 if I remember correctly. You'll need quarters.
There are tailgating lots, but we prefer to use the plaza. The vikings.com website has the list of parking lots that have tailgating.

Yes, take the metro transit. It will take you right to the Metrodome. Metro Transit - Home -

Thanks! I had my first visit to the Dome also this season and agree with all who said do the train at mall of America. We got to the mall fairly early but the train ride while cheap can kill your pregame time. I had a great time even with Minny winning at the game I was at.

Re: First Trip to the MetroDome
As others have said, park at the Mall and take the light rail. It'll cost you probably $4-5 per ticket to go to and from the Dome (assuming there aren't deals for gamedays or something).
However, do note that there's a possibility that you may have to stand for the 30-40 train ride, depending on the crowd and when you head to the Dome.

Todd: Okay. Well, fine. I just don't want it above my desk. Can't we just have, like, a four-leaf clover or something like that? Rajiv: Certainly, sir. Perhaps you should jot down a list of things from our ancient culture that make you uncomfortable so we can change them instantly.
