    Re: Who's Your Backup Team?

I'm a Vikings fan. If they move, I probably won't be as the proximity to the team is what the draw is. I'm also a fan of the Bills for Chad Rinehart (HS teammate) and Fred Jackson (Coe) and will follow any team that an Iowa State player is currently on.

If the Vikes leave, I'd probably follow the Bears a little closer, as my dad is from there and is a lifelong fan of them.

Thanks for posting this. Absolute hogwash...how any NFC Central fan (Bears, Vikings, Packers) could ever cheer for another team in that division is beyond me.

I am a Colts fan first. Loved them since the days of Eric Dickerson.

Next I follow the Cardinals. Family in Arizona.

It would be different if one lived in the town and saw a lot of games. But really, why wouldn't a Sonics fan cheer for the Thunder? They have no one else and they have some connection to the team.

funny...I always thought of Dickerson as a Ram. I never realized he spent as many years with the Colts as the Rams

Because the Sonics were hijacked by a few suits who couldn't get "an arena to be paid with taxpayer money bill" passed by the people in Seattle so they went to OKC where the people of Okla were eager to pay for the suits' new arena. Why would anyone continue to root for an organization owned by the guy who cried like a baby and took the team to a new home? In my mind the thunder owner attempted to extort the people of Seattle. Once that failed, he moved on to the next city, err victim, he could extort from.

Zygi is currently trying to extort the people of Minnesota on the pretense that the Twins have already extorted you, now its our turn. If the owners of these professional leagues can't pay or are not willing to pay for the facilities they desire, why should anyone else have to pay for it?

In short why would sonics fans not cheer for the Thunder? Because then more and more owners will feel they have the power to extort the public for stadiums costing billions.
