Hmmm, that is interesting.

Re: Yankees out of the running for Cliff Lee
Might as well not even play baseball next year. The Phillies have 3 aces and an excellent #2 on their staff.

Re: Phillies get Lee
I feel for the manager. He's gotta pick who gets to start opening day between Halladay, Hamels, Lee, and Oswalt.

Re: Phillies get Lee
I applaud for the Phillies for sticking it to the Yanks!

Re: Phillies get Lee
Must have taken the Miami Heat Big 3 approach (Halladay, Lee, Oswalt).

And to the Yankees: Don't confuse hope for a plan. -
Re: Phillies get Lee
Lee took 50 million less from the Yanks to pitch in Philly. Good for him.

Re: Phillies get Lee
Wow unless injuries hit them hard they just won a world series.

Re: Phillies get Lee
HILARIOUS. The Yankees really got de-pantsed in this off-season. I was hoping he went to Texas, because I like how they play ball, but I'll take anyone over the Yankees.
I suppose now they will go after Greinke, but can he handle playing in New York? His psyche has already been an issue in small-market KC.

I count 4 aces. This is the most ridiculous rotation in baseball.
CF Squad : Erik, Cubsy, Gnomeborg, Rulzzz, TBD , TBD -
Re: Phillies get Lee
This is now the greatest starting rotation in baseball history. The Phillies will be in every game they play, and can count on every starter going 7 innings.
When he waited for a couple weeks to sign with the Yankees, you could tell he was waiting for some other team to come forward, and the Phillies saw the opening.
Lee signed for less because he loved the team, the manager, and the passionate fan base.
