More impressive streak: Favre or Ripken?
And why? I think its Cal Ripken Jr. I agree with the people that will say football has the ability to knock you out for the season every play but 2,632 games???? That's unbelievable! Next in line is Matt Kemp at 204. Your thoughts???

It's Ripken. Hands down. 2,632 games is ridiculous, never will be matched.

Favre and it's not even close. Baseball is not a physical sport like being an NFL QB. Ripken actually has guys that are close to him in number of games played. Favre closes person is something like 90 games away and that is Peyton Manning. Then Jaws is another 60 behind both of them.
Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

The next closest person to Ripken at 204 games OR 15 years....and there is only one person all time (Lou Gehrig) within 1,300 games of Ripken...just the facts

Cal didn't do anything impressive except show up everyday. Sure he was a fine ball player with good statistical numbers... but C'mon, the Baltimore Orioles? All through his tenure, the Orioles were never beating the door down for another 3rd baseman. It was just a longevity record to me. Like Knownothing said, "Ripken actually has guys that are close to him in number of games played." Does that mean Ripken had to forfeit all those games during the strike year to remain eligible? Favre's streak will go unchallenged, that is a miracle record at that position.

I say Favre. Plus he performed at an exceptional level throughout that time. Ripken faded.

...One more thing, when Ripken decided to sit, it was exactly that... His decision! Not because of an injury, not for disciplinary reasons, just his descision. (Boredom if you ask me)

Ripken - Baseball is a grueling season, and is more taxing mentally than physically. The Physical aspect should not be under apprecieated. Ripkens will never be beat. Farves will be broken by Manning

I would have to say Favre faded this year....yes I realize maybe not to the effect that Ripken did but he has had a horrendous year

I have to go with Ripken. The Baseball season is just so long and grueling. Even today's superstars will take a game off every other month or so.

Ripken. Being an NFL QB isn't very physical at all. He had to turn around and hand it off or throw it. Its not like he's getting hit every play like a running back is.

Bret the Hiit Man Farve. Many more injuiries to overcome. Bret played more years than Cal perhaps.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Look, Payton Manning has started 205 straight games for the Colts. From the first game of his first year in the league up until now, Peyton has started. To break Favre's record, you have to figure that Peyton will need to play for six more seasons, meaning he would hang up the cleats and "walker" at age 40.
