Vikings Fans Asked to Help Shovel Stadium
The university says it will take shoveling volunteers every day from Thursday through Sunday. The school will even provide the shovels if necessary. Fans asked to help dig out Gophers' stadium - ESPN -
Re: Vikings Fans Asked to Help Shovel Stadium
Yeah, 'cuz no one in MSP has a snow shovel.
They gave free tickets to the fans in Detroit. Let them shovel.
Dean Wormer was wrong. Fat, drunk and stupid was a great way to go through college (all five years of it). -
Re: Vikings Fans Asked to Help Shovel Stadium
Kirk Ferentz and Iowa needs some good PR these days. Maybe they should take a crew up to Minnesota with them and do some shoveling

Re: Vikings Fans Asked to Help Shovel Stadium
Houston, we have a problem. Snow in Minnesota with nowhere to put it.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Vikings Fans Asked to Help Shovel Stadium
I should just walk over from work and see if I can lend my shoveling skillz.

Re: Vikings Fans Asked to Help Shovel Stadium
There are other problems than just the snow in TCF stadium (taken from Yahoo Sports)
1.TCF Bank Stadium was last used on Thanksgiving weekend when Minnesota defeated Big 10 rival Iowa, 27-24. Since then the field has been winterized, as there was no plan to use it again for a major event until next year.
2. Because no beer sales are allowed for college events held on campus, there are no beer taps installed at the concession stands of TCF Bank Stadium. Officials are discussing whether alcohol will be sold at the game. With those cold temperatures and Tarvaris Jackson at quarterback, Vikings fans are going to need some.
3. Those concession stands are going to have bigger issues than a lack of Budweiser. They weren't designed to withstand temperatures less than 30 degrees. Overnight lows on Monday are forecasted to be near zero, with a windchill of -15.
They say country music speaks to the heart. Unfortunately, it has to go through your ears to get there. -
Re: Vikings Fans Asked to Help Shovel Stadium
Understand why they need help. Imagine shoveling out every row that has 18 inches of snow.
Remember that stressed spelled backwards is desserts!

How do you handle what Metrodome tickets correlate to what seats at this stadium? Is it just going to be general admission for anyone with a ticket?

Nothing I'd like more than to go out in freezing temps to shovel a stadium for a 5-8 team.

I assume that if you paid for cheap seats, you'll get put in the student section/general admission section? Imagine sitting through the game in dangerously cold temps, watching an under-performing mess of a team flop around on the field. Originally Posted by mj4cy Understand why they need help. When I went to the Minnesota-Iowa game, there was still a few inches of snow/ice/ice water on the front row floor. Nothing like having your feet on top of an icebox to help keep you warm...

Originally Posted by TykeClone Why would this be the case? Does it not get cold in Minnesota during any part of the college season? Short of freak storms or something, no. Big Ten season tends to end right around Thanksgiving. Usually doesn't get to cold up here at that time. At least, when compared to mid-to-late December.
EDIT: I'd give you some stats, but they only have monthly data, and that's misleading because you're counting the whole month of November when you really only need data from the last week or so.

Re: Vikings Fans Asked to Help Shovel Stadium
Just read on Twitter that there is a 50/50 chance the game is played in Indy. Sounds like the NFL may not even approve the location.

Re: Vikings Fans Asked to Help Shovel Stadium
If they remove all the snow, what will Viking fans have to throw at the Bears?
