Is natural grass heated? No, its frozen, this is no different, and might even be softer. The point is playing on concrete like surfaces GREATLY increases the chance for those injuries. Rodgers hits his head on a harder surface, his concussion would have been greatly magnified- anyone with common sense can comprehend my point.
So try again smart ***.

Re: Wimpy NFL Football Players
At least the announcers will able to bring out the old NFL cliche "Frozen Tundra".

Re: Wimpy NFL Football Players
It's going to be an interesting game to watch. Twin Cities metro area is expecting another 8 inches or so of snow tomorrow, some during the game possibly.

Why in the hell didn't Minnesota install a heated field? Cheap bastards...

Re: Wimpy NFL Football Players
I see they have field turf. I thought they had natural grass. Makes the need for a heated field a little less.

The university hedged their bet that they wouldn't need heating coils, and as of yet, they haven't.

Games in the 60s were played in sub zero temperatures. Do you think the field was soft and cushy for them? Yep. It won't be any different than playing on the field at Veterans Stadium in Philly.

Actually, it can be heated and most have the ability to heat the field

I remember clayborn trying to dig in with his feet before plays. I don't remember too many injuries due to the field but I do remember the announcers discussing it being frozen. I don't think it got over 28 degrees that day and the overnight low was 10
In short the players need to nut up. It is one game.
