NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is telling fans that "if both sides give a little," the league and players "can and will reach an agreement" on a new labor deal.
At first, I thought a tactic like this would backfire as a blatant first strike in negotiations with the player's union. However, now, having read it, I think it may effectively set the tone for the negotiations. It isn't over-the-top in terms of negotiation details. Rather, it sets the agenda, namely controlling rookie pay and a 20 game season, both things that I think most fans would like to see.
an 18 game season would be idiotic....many players have a hard time getting through a 16 game season let alone 18 full games...goodell needs to think about the players and not just how hes going to get more money
oh and having the Pro Bowl before the Super Bowl is ******* stupid....the teams that make the super bowl (usually the ones that have a good amount of Probowlers) dont want their players playing much if at all. that ruins the whole point of the pro bowl if the best players cant play

Plus, if there is an 18 game season would the players even want to play the pro bowl?? Seems to me like they should just get rid of playing the game. There really is no need for it
For me, 20 games would be ripe. Just cancel the exhibition season and play ball. Let's go break some rushing and sack records. Start football 1 Aug and end in Feb.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.
