Let the Kirk Ferentz to Stanford talk begin.

What better job is out there? There are only 32 NFL head coaching jobs available and the 49ers are lined up with some good young talent on O and a good D. They have a bunch of picks in the 2011 draft and they are in possibly the easiest conference ever.
The only thing, granted it is a BIG thing, they are missing is a QB.

Re: Jim Harbaugh to 49ers
If they had a decent QB next year and the line get's slightly better and the defense slightly more consistent, then they should win the West. Thats a lot of ifs but they have a bunch of young offensive talent and key veterans here and there.
I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU
Or so I have read. -

The only thing, granted it is a BIG thing, they are missing is a QB. They're also one of the most storied franchises in the NFL, and who better to evaluate and mentor a QB than Harbaugh. I think this is a good fit for him.

There's only a few NFL openings each year, and usually the teams with job openings are not teams that are winning. I don't know what NFL job you think he should have waited for.

If you want to try the NFL there is no better time. Like Luck, his stock will never be higher, he doesnt have to move his family to take the job, and its not like we are talking about a crap franchise here, its the freakin 49ers.
Nothing to see here mods. Keep moving. -

If thats true than its not a cash grab, maybe he really wants an NFL job and wanted to stay in the Bay Area.

This whole things just seems a bit off. He had pretty quick success at Stanford and now all of the sudden he is about to take an NFL job in the worst division maybe in all of professional sports?

Just one problem with the Dolphins job... Pretty sure he wouldn't want to have to face the Jets and Patriots twice each season.
