Re: Cutler tears MCL
I don't like the guy that much either but they did show him a couple times and he was sitting next to hainey(sp?) and they were looking at the previous plays and one time he was cheering on the D.. fwiw.. but really I didn't care sense I'm a packers fan..
Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." -

Re: Cutler tears MCL
The whole team was disinterested in the first half. The Defense woke up and played great in the second.
Cutler was hurt and ineffective, and would have kept playing. Lovie pulled him for Collins which is madness. Todd Collins shouldn't even be on the roster. He is terrible. Hanie should have been the #2 QB and the Bears maybe could have gotten things going.
Once again, Martz fell back into passing too much. The play calling for Hanie was not good. Why not roll him out and allow him to beat GB with his feet? He was effective on short passes, but on the last play he is called to throw it into the middle. Not smart.
I hated losing to GB, but without a healthy Cutler we would have zero chance against the Steelers. GB will make it a game at least.

If that did happen than I retract what I said. However, I dont recall seeing that, at all.

Re: Cutler tears MCL
Hanie said this morning that Cutler talked to him before he went out and after he threw the TD. People are ignorant to the way Cutler is. Just because he is not out spoken and doesn't get excited like other people he is so bad. You can't change a person personality when he has been this way all his life. Unfortunate thing is he plays QB and spot light is on him all the time. If he is reserved then let him be. No one knows what he is like in the huddle or practice. From all accounts his team mates are very pleased with him.

But for the most part Cutler has made his own bed and has this reputation for a reason. Ding Ding. Hit it right on the money. If your hurt fine don't play, but look interested and cheer on your teammates that are playing. This is exactly like LT with Chargers a few years ago.

Hanie looked better than Cutler and Collins combined.

Bears fan opinion....
We aren't even in the NFC championship without them two.
Cutler has my support that he was injured and couldn't play.
I also don't want him playing hurt and causing more problems because he is playing hurt.

I also don't want him playing hurt and causing more problems because he is playing hurt. Ditto that. I think someone alluded to it earlier, but if it was someone other than Cutler, they probably wouldn't have been pushing this so hard. Perhaps Cutler doesn't let on when he's hurt, because he got pounded this year and really didn't miss much time.

You must have missed it after Hanie was in and the Bears scored the two TDs. They showed Cutler on the sidelines with a huge smile on his face cheering on his teammates. People only see what they want to see especially when they're ticked off that their team is losing. They also showed him sitting by Haine going over photos with him. Again the media is making this a lot bigger deal that it was.

Re: Cutler tears MCL
#54 stuck up for him, and that's good enough for me.
Everybody wants Jay to be a media darling and to look and act a certain way. While I do agree that he could stand some work on his footwork, I don't think he needs to be media friendly to be an effective QB and leader for the Bears.
And if the Bears had a little bit better O-line and maybe an actual weapon or two at WR Jay would be just fine.
He doesn't care for the media attention, avoids endorsement deals in Chicago, wants his charitable activities out of the spotlight, etc. He's just a different kind of cat, and that's ok. Except for those who want him to be just as affable as Peyton Manning because it fits their stereotype of what an NFL QB should be.

Re: Cutler tears MCL
I love how people want to pile on Cutler because he looks "disinterested", or won't play hurt, or isn't the 2nd coming of Peyton Manning, etc, etc. As a Bears fan, I'm thrilled we made it to the NFC title game when most people (me included) thought we would win 7 games or less. Some fans (or Cutler haters) just need someone to blame instead of just admitting the better team won the game.
And typically these same media people praise Mike Vick and Big Ben who, even though are terrible people off the field, but they are good football players so it's ok.

Re: Cutler tears MCL
Also, his teammates seem to love the guy and aren't questioning him and that's good enough for me.
