ISU gfans have hung in for 5 years.
I mean, what else is there to go do in Cleveland in the winter?

At first glance I think that trade says they don't think they will be meeting Orlando in the playoffs.

Cleveland is 3rd in the NBA in attendance this year.

Actual attendance or "I bought season tickets when we still had LeBron" attendance?

Every game I've seen with them the arena is full. It's more of a "we hate Lebron, we'll show him that we love the Cavs without him"

If watching Baron Davis not give a **** for 82 games a year doesn't draw fans in I don't know what will.

The Cavs have a team this year where none of their players are exciting, so if they draft well and actually get an exciting player I could see it continue.
Re: 2 Lottery picks for the Cavaliers
True story when I got into basketball (95-96) I was a die-hard NBA fan for two years before I realized Cleveland had a team.

I doubt many people who bought season tickets assumed LeBron was going to be there. I think most casual fans did not realize that LeBron was worth 45 wins. I bet most fans thought this would be a team battling for the final playoff spot.
That said, when you have several years of good attendance, and your owner comes out saying they will build a champion, it gets fans fired up, whether realistic or not.
Dan Gilbert is a SOULja for sure!

no, i wasn't saying that. i agree with you. i just don't care for jordan-never did. not sure why, probably because he won so damn much!
todays game is full of half-assedness, walking up and down the court, matador defense, etc. it sucks. the players don't seem to care because they make so much goddamn money. it's really gone down hill in my opinion, and i think the recent free-agency dealings is only going to hurt it more. time will tell.

I think you could have said that 5 years ago and had a point, but I think the newest crop of stars to come through the league (Griffin, Durant, etc.) seem to care a lot more.

Err, no. Dan Gilbert was of the opinion that he had surrounded LeBron James with championship-level talent. Did you see the Cleveland Cavaliers roster from last year?
2009–10 Cleveland Cavaliers season - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
If Gilbert actually thinks that Shaquille O'Neal (5 years past his prime), Antwan Jameson, Anthony Parker, Mo Williams, Anderson Varejão, Delonte "Hot Sauce In MY Bag" West, and Žydrūnas Ilgauskas is championship-level talent, then it's no wonder James left Cleveland running. Not to mention his strategy of keeping LeBron in Cleveland was emotional blackmail and a really horrible "Don't Leave, LeBron" music video (to the tune of "We Are the World"). Perhaps if he had spent more of his time and money surrounding LeBron with credible talent instead of expecting him to bring Cleveland a championship all by himself, perhaps the odds of him staying would have been better...

I blame more of that on LeBron than on Gilbert. You have to get players who want to come. IMO, players are not huge on playing with LeBron.
LeBron had to go to Wades team to try and compete for a championship. All those guys were free agents. If LeBron had any pull, why not recruit some of those free agents to Cleveland?
LeBron might be the best player in the game right now, but he does not value winning, and is likely a huge pain in the butt to play with.

Lebron was the decision maker for all those trades and signings. He basically made that team. You can blame Gilbert for allowing Lebron to be the decision maker, but to not put any blame on Lebron is dumb.
