    EDIT: I should probably clarify - it's incredibly stupid because Mexican teams don't attach an "el" or a "los" to their team name or logos to make it "Mexican" - they just use the noun or adjective, just like we do. So why the hell are we trying to appeal to Latinos by attaching a tag to the name when Latinos don't do it themselves?

    I would think it would be a slap in the face. Why dont they do los toros instead of los bulls? It would be like Mexico wants to get the Americans to watch soccer and call one of their teams The Chivas.

    Marketing. Teams in cities with high Hispanic populations do this from time to time. You'll never see Los Nuggets or El Pacers.
