Fantasy Baseball draft #1 pick.....
I have it but don't want Pujols, is that a bad decision??

Re: Fantasy Baseball draft #1 pick.....
Not really. While Albert is the best in the game, a first basemen in fantasy baseball may be the easiest position to fill.
I took Troy Tulowitzki.

Re: Fantasy Baseball draft #1 pick.....
Hanley had such a down year last year compared to the previous year. Troy had better batting average, more HRs and RBIs. Only category Hanley was better in last year was stolen bases.

Re: Fantasy Baseball draft #1 pick.....
So I took Tulo #1 but ended up with auto-draft on some other picks because I had to take care of my kids and forgot to que up who I wanted. My team is not that great to start off with.

Re: Fantasy Baseball draft #1 pick.....
Good shortstops are hard to come by. But there are tons of good 1st basemen. I think passing on Pujols is smart. You can still get Howard, Texeira, Gonzalez, etc, although I doubt any of them fall to you.

Re: Fantasy Baseball draft #1 pick.....
I got Rummy Cabrera at #3 and was pretty happy. I would still take Albert at #1

I had the #1 pick, took Albert, and struggled at the 2B/SS positions all year long. I took Troy #2 overall this year and ended up with Morneau as my first basemen. Guys like Prince Fielder and Texeria were available the next time I was on the clock after getting Troy in the first round.

I'd of taken Pujols or try and shop around your pick. No way in hell you get any of those other 1Bs (assuming it is a snake draft) unless your league is extremely shallow or full of idiots. Middle infield is actually quite a bit deeper this year, even with Utley going down.
I took Pujols with the first pick in my league, even though I would rather have A. Gonzalez, because I know I can always get top market value in trade for him (especially from a Card fan).

Re: Fantasy Baseball draft #1 pick.....
I guess I should mention who I got for MI. I'm in a 14 team league that is fairly serious (this is our 7th season with the same group).
I got Andrus as my SS and S. Castro as a back up. I got Kinsler as my 2B and even picked up H. Kendrick as Util/back-up for when Kinsler gets injured.
