Remember Shinnecock Hills and the Us open 5 years back? That made the guys look like bafoons. Augusta has nothing on the greens that tourney.
That's true but Augusta does it year after year and hold the integrity of the greens. I mean you can still hold a ball on the green there. Shinnecock was borderline. I don't want to say they were unfair, but they were very extreme and they took away from the tournament. Do you plan on going Shinnecock at Veenker for The Masters this year? That would be interesting.

Those greens were very unfair to say the least at Shinnecock in my opinion. But they did water them later on and made them somewhat better. The US Open always tries to make it immposible for players. They don't like to see the winner at double digits under par. And I would love to mess with people for the Masters this year, but it would lead to 10 hour rounds by some people.

They kidn of closed the door of the barn after the cows were out on that deal though. I don't agree with how they try to determine what the score is. They usually have a good setup but that year in particular they went to far. That tourny has always been about the fairways and rough defending the course. They then added the greens and it was too much. Imagine if Augusta threw in some 25 or 30 wide fairways with 3-4 inch rough? That would be brutal. That's the great thing about The Masters. They do lengthen thing but for the most part they do their things and let the players decide the score.
