Top 5 NBA Players of All-Time
Bill Russell - 11 Championships in 13 years (15.1 points, 22.5 rebounds, and 4.3 assists). Probably would have had the most blocks if they had kept track of them in that era.
Wilt Chamberlain - Averaged 50 points & 25 rebounds for an entire season (30.1 points, 22.9 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.)
Oscar "The Big O" Robertson - Averaged a triple double for an entire season (career 26 points, 9.5 assists, and 7.5 rebounds, while also shooting a tremendous 49 percent from the field and 84 percent from the free-throw line.)
Earving "Magic" Johnson - (19.5 points, 11.2 assists, 7.2 rebounds). A 6'8" PG who played center for an injured Kareem Abdul Jabaar as a rookie in the 1980 Championship game and scored 42 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, and had six assists).
Kareem Abdul Jabaar - (24.6 points, 11.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 0.9 steals, and 2.6 blocks per game). He is first all-time in total points with 38,387, third all-time in total rebounds with 17,440, third all-time in total blocked shots with 3,189, and even 33rd all-time in total assists with 5,660.

I don't need to regurgitate stats to defend MJ like you regurgitate lines from bleacherreport.com.
It's impossible to make a definite top 5 list of players. Especially when everyone can have different definitions of what merits being a "top player."
In my opinion, if a player leads the league in scoring every year ( except for injury year, retirement year, or farewell tour years) his hat deserves to be thrown in the ring. Plus he was the biggest single factor to the success of the NBA during his era.

Re: Top 5 NBA Players of All-Time
You didn't say top 5 players of all-time....oh, and you have to consider TEAM related statistics.
Is this an acknowledgement of best individual players, or not?
If you want to talk strickly individual, Jordan is the best player of all time. Bar none as any anyone that has actually played the game can see this and it doesn't require putting your nose in a book on NBA statistics.

Re: Top 5 NBA Players of All-Time
I'm drunk from VEISHEA. But you are a godamnn hallucinogenic ******** god damn stupid idiot if you don't have Jordan #1. And that isn't my opinion. that is a stone cold fact. I could give a **** if Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell were unstoppable when only white people played and nobody could dunk but them. Jordan played in at the peak of the league and dominated. If Dwight Howard played in the 40s he wouldve put up GOAT numbers too.
Wow I had to reread your list to make sure Jordan wasnt on it. You have got to be ******* kidding me. Dear god.
I'm sorry I was so mean but sweet Jesus not having Jordan in the top ******* five.

Re: Top 5 NBA Players of All-Time
I hope this is just a dream and that there isn't a person in the world who has Jordan out of their top 5. This can't be real.

Re: Top 5 NBA Players of All-Time
Have to replace Wilt with Jordan on this list, and I don't need to throw out stats. The OP knows...the list left Jordan out intentionally.

Re: Top 5 NBA Players of All-Time
Wow I just came back 20 minutes later because I couldn't believe Jordan got left off and it really happened. There is no way.

Considering just the OP post, Jordan should make the top 5, but Chamberlain is not the guy to bump.50 ppg and a 100-point game that is unlikely to be broken.
Abdul-Jabbar is safe.
