NFL DRAFT....what to do....
The draft is here Thursday night....
Here's my take on what i think my team needs to do...
As a Cowboy fan and watching that painful season last year, it seems apparent that the Boyz need to trade down because unless something at the top happens, the player they need will be picked in the top three picks in Patterson. So - here's my dream scenario....
We know that Dallas needs a safety, OL help, cornerback help....
So trade down, there is no player for any of these positions that will be available at #9 and rumor has it that Washington who picks #10 and are supposed to be favoring if available Julio Jones. However, one team that is in desperate need of a WR playmaker is St Louis to go with soon to be super star qb bradford....so this puts dallas in the catbirds seat...
So - i say Dallas will trade out of #9 with St Louis who picks 14 and in return based only on value chart, would look like this:
Dallas gets Rd 1 #14, Rd 3 #78, Rd 5 #145 moving into the top ten is expensive
St Louis gets Rd 1 #9 pick....not sure a team like the rams can afford that much to move up but they are supposed to love what Julio isand what he brings to the table...i hope they do.....
Now a even wackier scenario from there:
How bout if Alton Smith or JJ Watts were available at 14, a lot of mocks put both NE and TB vying for his services...two possible trade partners....
dallas would get NE #17, RD 3 #81
NE would get Dal #14, RD 5 #145
This would give Dallas a lot of options heading into Round 2 with the their #40 pick and then 3 - 3rd round picks..
How bout this first three rounds...
#17 Nate Solder (LT) Colo
#40 Rahim Moore (S) UCLA
#71 Shareece Wright (CB) USC
#78 Kenrick Ellis (DT) Hampton
#81 Stefen Wisniewski (C-OG) Penn St
There you go - thats my dream draft for dallas for three rounds....and the rational behind the trading down is 100% realistic....i mean we only drop 8 picks and pick up two quality third round picks....not to mention the financial impacts of moving out of the top 15 as compared to 2 third round players....

Re: NFL DRAFT....what to do....
You are dreaming if you think the Rams are going to give up that much to move ahead 5 spots. I do think the Rams are going to move up, and Dallas is a possibility, but they won't give up that much.
I just hope the Dolphins don't waist their first round pick again(Ted Ginn, Jason Allen, Jamar Fletcher, John Avery, Yatil Green). The jury is still out on Vontae Davis and Jared Odrick.

Re: NFL DRAFT....what to do....
As a Cowboys fan I want Nick Fairley for some reason. The defense is missing some bad ***-ness. D-Ware is a great player, but he's not a dirty player. I want a defense that just wants to knock you out, something Fairley would provide.
If Fairley is off the board (or he's too much of a headcase) it's between Prince Amukamara or trade down for some O-line help (Castonzo/Pouncey). I would side with trading down.

Re: NFL DRAFT....what to do....
as a raider fan i'm pretty sure i dont have to worry about them moving into the first round ... sounds like hue will be allowed to make the final decisions this year so hopefully his scouts get him the right info ...

Re: NFL DRAFT....what to do....
The Broncos have some work to do as the last few drafts have been disasters under McDaniels. Defense will be the main priority and this looks like a defense heavy draft. I wouldn't mind them trading back and collecting more picks but it looks they'll take Dareus from Alabama as defensive tackle is a huge need. With the two picks early in the second round I'm sure they'll go after linebackers and secondary help

9th pick is valued at 1350
14th pick is valued at 1100
78th pick is valued at 110
141th pick is valued at 35.5
Now i could see Dallas maybe making the same trade and getting less value in return or maybe a 4th round draft pick from 2012 instead of the 5th rounder this year....but the trade is actually in favor of the rams from a value standpoint as those picks in the top 9 are extremely weighted as IMPACT players....

Re: NFL DRAFT....what to do....
As a Bills fan I can only hope Newton is off the board and they don't take Gabbert. Think they should take Von Miller or Patrick Peterson. No one player is going to make them good next year, so maybe they will get the first pick and take Luck next year.

Dallas needs Franklin because the Dallas TE is getting old.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
