Another difference is that Moss played on more complete football teams than Marino. Dan had good WR's and a good line for much of his career, but rarely were his Miami teams blessed with a good running back or defense. The 98 Vikes and 07 Pats were far better teams than Marino ever got to play with.

Re: Better WR?
No WR has ever caused a defense to plan for him the way Moss did in his prime. No one. Super bowl rings at WR are irrelevant, I'll give you QBs but WRs can't effect enough to count championships.
Moss is absolutely in Rice's league and I think he was a better WR. I'm talking who do you want to make your offense better. I'd take Moss everytime.
Like I said, Rice had ridiculous longevity, but that isn't necessarily what I'm talking about. Moss's style doesn't lend itself to longevity yet he still went for 16 years and counting.

Re: Better WR?
I'm a Chiefs fan. If I had to choose between the two WR's with Cassel, I would say Rice easy. If I had a QB who can throw a good deep ball, I'll take Moss.

Ok, forget rings, how about Superbowl MVP's? That award would tell me that player affected the outcome of the game.
I agree Moss is in Rice's league, I think we are probably talking about the 2 best ever.
You seem to attribute Rice's success to longevity, but he still holds the single season receiving yardage record. His single season TD record stood for 20 years despite happening in a 12 game season. Single season records have nothing to do with longevity.
I agree with others, Moss may have had the potential to be better, but he failed to reach it.
