Playoffs
Anyone on here care? I think they've been great so far. I figured the Heat-Celtics 2nd round series would be an all-timer, but it has been the worst of the four so far. Boston is really showing its age and didn't really put up a fight down in Miami. Aside from that, this Memphis-Oklahoma City series is starting to look like it could be a phenomenal 6 or 7 game fight. Exciting, young, tough players on both teams, and great crowds.
And in the other two series (is "series" the plural of "series"?), Lakers-Mavs and Bulls-Hawks, the significant underdog each won the first game, so you can expect at least one, if not both, to go 6 or 7 games.
If you haven't been watching, it's been one of the best seasons in a long time, in my opinion. The rest of these playoffs should be a great culmination of that. Give it a shot if you haven't.

Yeah I agree it's been a pretty good playoffs so far.

Re: Playoffs
Boston misses Tony Allen more than they thought. They don't have anyone who can guard LeBron or DWade. Pierce and Allen can still get it done on offense in their twilight years but not on D.

Re: Playoffs
I also was expecting an excellent series between Boston and Miami. But I am now shifting my attention to the Mavs and Lakers. I have a feeling that is going to be a great series. And I would love nothing more than to see the Lakers go home in 2nd round...

I think they were anticipating Jeff Green to shoulder some of that load. Did not seem like he had too big of an effect trying to guard LeBron tonight though.

Re: Playoffs
I think we may be looking at Dallas vs Miami Part 2. Hopefully the Mavs take it this time.

The Mavs are the deepest team left in the playoffs! Go Mavs!

Re: Playoffs
I can't see the Mavs winning more than one more game. Dirk is one of my favorite players in the league, but the rest of that team doesn't do much for me.

I could see them stealing the series. This Lakers team really has not been impressive at all in the playoffs. The Mavs have a better bench, plus Dirk single handedly takes away LA's biggest advantage. They just can not play Bynum and Gasol together when Dirk's on the floor. Plus with Chandler inside they have a big time defender and can force Kobe to settle for mostly jumpers. I think this goes 7.
Also, it's crazy that these two teams haven't met in the playoffs since 1988. That doesn't seem possible.

Re: Playoffs
IMO Dirk could have been MVP and it wouldn't have been a steal. Least talked about superstar in the league on a good team.
I really hope the thunder pull it out, I'd love to see a Thunder/Miami series.

Don't confuse hope for a plan. -
Re: Playoffs
You know who has the best shot of beating Miami?
The Memphis Grizzlies. With Battier and Allen they have two plus defenders to throw at Wade & James and they've got good enough post play to hurt Miami inside.
When Lebron went to Miami I never thought that they'd be this good defensively but with Anthony in the post and they might be the best defensive team in the league.

Re: Playoffs
Loved seeing Mavs destroy LA last night. Rome is going to be must listen radio today.

Re: Playoffs
Grizz / Thunder is a great series ... reminds me of a blend of NCAA tourney and the Steve nash suns at their best.
young kids playing fast and hard even if they are mostly relative unknowns
