Re: Royals call up pitching prospect Danny Duffy
Can't believe they sent Mazarro down, he only gave up 14 runs in 2 innings last night. Actually I feel kinda bad for him, he wasn't scheduled to pitch, definitely wasn't ready, maybe he spent last night at Kelly's or something. Oh well, its worth it to get Davies out of the rotation (the worst starting pitcher in the history of baseball, backed up by stats).
Looking forward to seeing Duffy. Hopefully we get Chen back soon, the rotation is a mess.

I think that had alot to do with Mazarro's performance last night.

Pitchers who up their innings total over 50 innings in a year generally have a higher risk for injury than pitchers who throw high pitch counts occasionally.
I don't think it's really something to worry about. If he does start to rack up the innings they will either shut him down for the year or perhaps move him to the bullpen to slow things down at the end of the year. His future is too valuable to risk an injury even at the expense of a playoff run.

Totally agree on Crow and Montgomery. I just heard that speculation out there.
Excited about Crow and Duffy and eventually Montgomery and even the Dominican kid in A ball (forgot his name as I type this) one day being together.

I'm extremely excited as well. You can throw in Lamb as well -- he's struggled a little this year, but he's had a strained lat which has been hurting his velocity. Also, Odorizzi has just been been dominant. You'd think they'd get a couple legitimate starters out of the mix.
