I read the ****** to my wife when we got to the bottom of the 9th. Marmol followed it almost to a "T". If I were Z, throwing the way he's throwing right now, I know that I deserve those wins, and I know that Marmol blew both of them. I'd be ticked off.

Re: Carlos Zambrano at it again
the cubs need a manager that can get them fired up. none of them care right now. not blaming quade but he needs to do something

Re: Carlos Zambrano at it again
If I were Quade I'd keep throwing my Double-A lineup out there. Guys like Campana may be limited somewhat in what they can do, but at least he appears to give a ****.

Re: Carlos Zambrano at it again
I've got no problem with Big Z coming out in the media like this. Marmol is struggling and someone needs to do something to get him going again. One powerful motivator to not blow a save is the thought of Big Z coming at your head with a bat.

He needs to be given a lot of slack because he's only 21 but his defense has been awful. All he needs is to be is average defensively to be a great player because his bat is so good. It would be a shame to have to move him out of shortstop.
Castro, Soto, and Byrd are the only starters I'd like to see back next year. I like Barney as a bench player/hustle guy but he has zero power and he doesn't draw walks.

Barney is still hitting over .300

His job isn't to hit home runs or be a power hitter even though I believe he's still top three in RBI's. He handles the bat better than any guy on the team, including Castro which is what you want from your two-spot. Plus, right now the price is right.

A guy with his track record doesn't get to call-out teammates. If he wants to frame it as a team issue fine, he doesn't have the right to call out a teammate like that. He better not shake off any signs his next time out.
You can agree with the message (we need to play harder/better) but his methods are self-serving and damaging to the team. I've seen enough of the Z act. It's too bad I have got another year and half of it.

Actually, he's at .296 which would be fine except he has a .317 on base percentage. That's really low when you're talking about someone with very little power.
The Cubs have bigger issues than Barney, but I'm hoping they aren't counting on him being the second baseman of the future.

Re: Carlos Zambrano at it again
I'm not kidding, if you guys are going to have threads titled, "Carlos Zambrano at it again," the Cardinals will gladly take him. We have holes in our pitching staff. We'd gladly take Aramis off your roster too since 3rd is weak for us too. If I was a Cubs fan, I'd be supporting Big Z 110% because he is pitching incredibly well right now and still shows a lot of passion for what he does.

I'm behind him.
Unless we worked a trade for Pujols. I'd also support that.
