The Dodgers...A Once-Great, Now Messed Up Franchise!
What has happened to the Dodgers? - CNN.com
Sad...I am first and foremost a White Sox fan...but my next favorite teams are the Dodgers and the Pirates...who would have thought I would have more fun following the Pirates than the Dodgers in recent years? Organizationally the Dodgers are an embarrassment these days...

Thank the McCourts and their east coast idiocy. It sucks. I want Mark Cuban to take over but MLB won't let it happen.

Ditto on the McCourt fiasco. Why in the world wouldn't you want a young, free-thinking, deep-pocketed owner added to the mix of MLB owners?
It's a crying shame to see such a once great franchise idle in mediocrity. A couple of good moves could make a world of difference. Just look where they're at with almost everyone on the DL at one time or another. Makes it hard to judge the job Mattingly's doing.
Re: The Dodgers...A Once-Great, Now Messed Up Franchise!
Imo the problems for the Dodgers started when O'Malley sold the team to FOX. Scoscia was managing in the minors and expected to be the next Dodger manager, but FOX brought in Davey Johnson and Scoscia bolted to the Angels (kind of like what's happened with Sandberg and the Cubs). When FOX wanted to sell the club, Selig ok'd the sale to McCourt shortly after he wouldn't let McCourt buy into the Red Sox, and the McCourt's wild spending spree has been well documented. The fans are doing their best to get McCourt to sell as many fans are buoycotting the games. A group including Steve Garvey and Oral Hershiser would also like the chance to buy the team. Get rid of the McCourts and the Dodgers could soon be back in good shape as the fans return, especially if it's a good owner like the Garvey-Hershiser group. I doubt the other major league owners would ok Cuban, though I think most Dodger fans would be very happy with him. The team has a good young nucleus and is only a couple of years removed from having good teams, so I think most Dodger fans have hope with a new owner. And as someone mentioned, they have had a ton of injuries.

It's amazing this team is still around .500, with all the injuries and legal off the field stuff going on. Very sad. Thank God for Matt Kemp.
Re: The Dodgers...A Once-Great, Now Messed Up Franchise!
Matt Kemp strained a hamstring and hasn't played tonight. The team has had 47 different player on their roster since the start of the season due to injuries, which leads the majors. Woops, Kemp is now pinch hitting probably to keep his consecutive game streak alive. He better not run.

Good news, he just hit one out so he can jog around the bases.
