And if you would have made the block YOU pry would have been knocked backwards and not the other way around. Just the fact that Wagner put himself in that position after initially blocking another defender is a great play and one that deserves credit.
Given all of that went on in The Run, for Wagner to be there to make the final block was a pretty good play. Whether the guy saw it coming or not is irrelevant, it was a good clean block and finished off any chance of Tech stopping that score.
I think it was October 2002. It was a great game, not just that play. Lane Danielson's reverse for a TD. Wes Welker played for Tech in that game. That was the peak of 2002, as team climbed into the top 10.
I was in the band in the south endzone, so that play happened right in front of me. That may have been the single greatest moment of my Cyclone Football fandom..... been a lot of tough times since that play.
They should mention Wagner's block on that play. Best block I've seen by a Cyclone on a TD play, though Darks' block to spring White in OT #3 this year was sweet...
+100000. I don't get the chills on that play until the decleater. Agree, so much excitement in the play and add in Pete's call. All combines to makes it classic and the most famous and memorable play in ISU history for me.
