Top 10 starting Pitchers in Free Agency '12
Re: Top 10 starting Pitchers in Free Agency '12
Pretty sad group if anyone is looking to make any real improvement... The Pirates won't likely pick up the option on Paul Maholm, so I would throw him in there in the top 5, maybe even right after CJ.

Brandon Webb....Didn't know he was making a comeback. I'd take a chance on him for the right price.
Re: Top 10 starting Pitchers in Free Agency '12
And the cubs will now overpay for a couple of them.

Looks like they think CC will opt out. Where do you see him going? I hope to God the Red Sox don't go after him...

Mark Buehrle behind Rich Harden? You're ******** me, right?
Actually, Buehrle should be second on that list. Behind CJ Wilson.

To the National League and/or on the West Coast. He WANTS to go to San Fran, but not sure they can pay him what he wants... Probably Anaheim or LA (depending on the ownership mess).
Washington also DESPERATELY wants a veteran ace... They were the top bidder for Cliff Lee, don't be surprised if they put in a huge offer.

Not a FA, but who would like to help my team out, and trade to get Derrek Lowe? Someone? anyone?
Re: Top 10 starting Pitchers in Free Agency '12
Good lord... after CJ and CC... who wants any of those guys for a higher price than a bag of balls... Maybe Buerhle but he's not exactly a spring chicken.... better hope someone is coming up in your farm system if you want pitching help...
Re: Top 10 starting Pitchers in Free Agency '12
75% of the White Sox 2005 World Series rotation is on that list...seems like just yesterday...sigh...

Maybe you didn't get the "Jim Hendry has been fired" news?

Next years free agent class looks much, much, better for pitching but I can't remember who's all in it. Matt Cain, Zach Greinke, Anibal Sanchez, and Cole Hamels at least. John Danks maybe. Save your money!

Washington is going to be throwing some serious money around the next few years. I imagine they will go after Fielder hard too. The Phillies are going to be bad in a year or two and Washington and Atlanta are going to be the teams to beat in the NL East for the next 5-10.

Supposedly Miami is going to increase payroll as well now that they have the new ballpark (which by the way is looking awesome while it is contstructed). If the Mets ever get back on track that is going to be one tough division!

I hope the cubs can snag CJ Wilson. I don't know how this team will look next year but you can't go wrong with a dominating lefty
