Sorry to pop your bubble, but this Cowboys fan thinks that Harbaugh needs to learn to do his celebrating before and after the handshake with his peer coach, not during. Sure, Schwartz' reaction was a little over the top, but it never would have happened if Harbaugh would have shown a little restraint while shaking his opponent's hand.
I think its a reach to think that how fans are perceiving this is all about team allegiances.
While Schwartz over-reacted, Harbaugh needs to learn that you don't slap-shake hands and slap the opposing coach on the back as if you're celebrating with one of your own coaches. If he does it again I'm sure he'll get another overreaction, maybe from a player. But Harbaugh has apologized and I hope has learned his lesson on protocol when shaking hands with an upset coach you've just beat, and Schwartz also needs to apologize for his over-reaction.
To me it seemed like Harbaugh just didn't make the appropriate shift from "celebrating with your players" mode to "greeting the opposing coach" mode. He clearly was amped up after a big win and should have toned down the enthusiasm before the handshake. But he didn't push Schwartz. It was more of an exuberant handshake/slap on the back (the type that would usually occur with one of his own players or coaches). Schwartz came off like a crazy person. Hard to see Shanahan/Reid/Dungy, etc acting at all like that. Earlier in the game, after Harbaugh inappropriately challenged a scoring play, Schwartz was shown animatedly screaming "Learn the ******* rules Harbaugh". It's hard for a guy who handles himself this way to cast too many stones on etiquette.
Harbaugh's enthusiasm is much of what makes him a great coach. I think we can safely say he'll tone down his enthusiasm during future opposing coach postgame encounters.
Fair enough, "over the top" then. The point remains, neither is blameless in this situation as some have suggested.
"There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr
Looks like this thing may have started in the 1st quarter when Harbaugh tried to challenge a Detroit TD and was penalized for doing it...Schwartz was yelling, "know the rules Harbaugh" at the 49ers sideline...and apparently cussing...

I was glad to see Harbaugh "Dis" Schwartz like that after the game. I cant remember at time where I have seen a coach yell at another coach across the field about a bonehead mistake.
For the record, really like the turn around the Lions have shown under Schwartz and hope it continues for them. Maybe see ya in SF for a playoff game.
I think this is very possible. The Packers are very likely to win the NFC North, with the Lions most likely taking a wild card spot. Assuming the 49ers win the West (looking extremely likely at this point), they would either host a playoff game in the wild card or divisional round (depending on order of finish among division winners). In either event Detroit could well be the visitor. I'm not so sure Detroit is that tough without their massive home field advantage (kudos to that raucous crowd).
