    Re: Cutler-broken thumb? UPDATE!!

It appears to be a stress fracture of the thumb from sucking it too much.

The Bears have been playing as well as anyone in the NFL over the last five weeks. With the schedule the Bears have coming up I think they will still be able to get a wild card spot. They should be able to beat Kansas City, Denver, Minnesota and Seattle. Lean even more on defense and special teams, run the ball even more and hope Hanie can make a couple plays a game.

Really, having Collins at the #2 was just completely ridiculous and unacceptable. It looked like they threw some random insurance agent in at QB in the NFL playoffs. I don't know if that's on the coaching staff or the GM but they're lucky they kept their jobs.
He was never supposed to do anything other than hold a clipboard as you saw when he was actually put into a game.

    Re: Cutler-broken thumb?

What's Mark Bulger doing these days? He got anything left in the tank? He knows the Martz offense already. Can't imagine Kurt Warner getting the call. If Hanie can't get it done, there really is no option C.

They will need to do something. The Bears are playing playoff caliber football and Cutler could be back by then, presumably. Putting it all on Hanie who has only ever been in one game I think is probably asking too much.

    Re: Cutler-broken thumb?

I just saw that the Broncos are waiving Kyle Orton. Is it possible the Bears will "re-sign" him? That would be really interesting if he came back. He would be familiar with the offense...or did the cutler orton trade happen before Martz was hired as OC?

I don’t care where you come from, whether it’s Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I don’t care about any of that… But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads
