Colvin has had plenty of opportunity and he's shown that he isn't a starter.

I think this is a Marlon Byrd type signing. He's a good, not great player who is an upgrade in the outfield at a reasonable price.

Most of the time it seemed like Byrd was the only one trying out there.

Love Marlon Byrd. I'm not quite sure what I'm hoping for this offseason, except trying to get rid of some of those awful contracts. Soriano just has to go. Watching him try and lug that 3 ton bat through the strike zone is painful to watch. I'm not sold on brining in Pujols either. Aging guy, huge contact and I think Pena can be a solid first basemen into the future. There are bigger holes to fill than first base, i.e. pitching.

Great team player for the Royals when he was with us. Did great things on and off the field. A class act guy and thought we could have gotten more for him when we traded him to the A's. (Remember the guy that gave up 18 runs in 1 1/3 innings? Yeah). He'll be good in Chicago.
