Stake through the heart of Cubs fans. Now they need a third baseman. Who will they steal?
We needed a third baseman as soon as the season was over. It was clear Ramirez wasn't going to be re-signed, and the Cubs made no effort to retain him. The Cubs recently got Ian Stewart in a trade with the Rockies to play third.Quote:

Ken Rosenthal says 34M-37M is the expected range.
And now the Cubs get a compensation pick. Ramirez was gone when the season was over.
I think they're still interested in retaining Pena though.....
