Last year was great (several of my fantasy teams thank him), but counting on that kind of production going forward isn't necessarily a good move. We just won a WS and we did not have Wainwright....... go talk about how good the cubs are going to be this year.

I'm dissappointed in Albert, my only point. You can rant all you like and I will still be dissappointed in Albert. He talked well but then did not walk that talk. Regarding the abilities of the Cards and Cubs. The truth hurts.

I'm surprised that he left, but there's no reason to be bitter about it. That man gave years of underpaid service to the Cards. Are the majority of Cards fans bitter he left, or how he left?
I do not know many fellow Card fans that wanted him for more than 200 million or 7 years. It is the two-face behavior that invokes bitterness.

Re: Bernie on Albert
The next few years are most likely a rebranding project for the Cardinals, but it's better than Albert + scrubs for 10 years. One great player can't win a title... but several good players can.

It's all about the Benjamins. What's done is done. I can only hope works out as well as it did for the Packers after Favre left. Go Cards!

One great player can't win a title... but several good players can. Imo, the mistake was to waste time going after Albert this off-season. This is where the "bitterness" comes in. If Albert would have been forthright about it being exclusively about the money, the Cards could have moved on, pursued other quality free-agents with the freed cabbage, and been in great position for another WS run.
Instead Pujlos gave mixed signals and the Cards lost out on some nice would be pick-ups. Oh well, they are still in position for a decent run. Better than the Cubs anyways.

I didn't say it wasn't true. But it's irrelevant to this discussion. It's a classic change of subject for rebecacy, and it's his favorite subject to go to. He might as well have said Stephen Bloom is an arrogant jacka**. It's true, but it's irrelevant to this discussion.

But you chose to respond to rebeca over someone that didn't change the topic....:D
