I was going to post this but I couldn't stop laughing. No offense to Rutgers, hes a good fit there, but this move has failure written all over it for TB.

Not sure what Tampa is doing. here. Schiano of 4-5 years ago I could understand. Schiano, now, seems like a third or fourth choice.

That is a HUGE blow to Rutgers football. He is pretty much the only reason they are where they are now. I can see them falling off quite a bit with a new coach, even with the talent that Schiano has brought in.

Interesting to see if this affects the pursuit of Rutgers in conference realignment scenarios.

it won't. CPR just signed a huge extension. No school is going to pony up the buyout at this point. A few years from now, when the buyout is lower, maybe, or possibly if he wins a BCS game, but not now.

Do they have any recruits that would be worth ISU trying to pick off? I know it's not likely that any would switch to ISU but it would be a very minor payback for the bowl game.

I know it's bad, but this was one of my 1st thoughts also.

I think his recruitment had as much to do with proximity. I think he stays with Rutgers. I think the ever switching JJ Denman will see some teams get back on him.

Logs like most of their commits are from NJ and Penn, not really where we recruit. So I doubt we had much communication with most of them. They do have a lot of quality kids committed, for now at least. Hawk fans are wetting their panties over the idea of poaching some of them.
