    Re: Top 10 baseball movies?

    1. Bull Durham
    2. The Natural
    3. Field of Dreams
    4. Bad News Bears (original)
    5. Long Gone
    6. Eight Men Out
    6. The Sandlot
    7. A League of Their Own
    8. Major League

That's all I've got. I will say that including Brewster's Millions on a list like this is just as ridiculous as leaving The Natural off.

    Re: Top 10 baseball movies?

How ironic is it that 3 of the greatest all-time baseball movies has Kevin Costner? Field of Dreams, Bull Durham, and For the Love of the Game are at the very least in my top 5, probably throw Major League in my top 5 as well.

Don't forget The Rookie with Dennis Quaid, that makes my top 10 as well. I liked Moneyball but I have a hard time putting it in the top 10 of all time.

    Re: Top 10 baseball movies?

Glad to see a couple mentions of For the Love of the Game. It ties in baseball with a good plot and Kelly Preston is smokin' in it. I think it's a very underrated baseball movie and one of Kevin Costner's better acting jobs. (btw, is there another actor that just absolutely nails his roles or completely blows like Kevin Costner? No middle ground)

As for the original list, it's mostly....not......good. Bull Durham is way too low. Major League isn't on it. The Natural is left off, etc, etc. To each their own I guess.

    Re: Top 10 baseball movies?

i'm currently watching "baseball" by ken burns. it's a documentary so not necessarily entertainment. but as a fan of baseball, i think it is a worthy film. is it biased towards NY/boston? yes. are some of the people interview a bit old and lame? yes. i still think it is worth the time.

who are we kidding, i'm ready for the damn season to start.

    Re: Top 10 baseball movies?

My favorite are "The Rookie" and "Mr. Baseball".

Mr. Baseball is a great movie starring Tom Selleck as a major league player whose career is starting to go downhill so he goes to Japan to play in their major leagues. Maybe I only like that because I wish baseball would have a true "World Series" similar to the World Cup in soccer.

Sugar is really good. Kinda depressing though. No Natural and Major League totally lost me. ANd let's face it, baseball is a backstory to Brewster's millions.

Surriously, how does The Natural not make this list? The Natural > those 10 movies combined, duh.

Mods can check IP addresses, and (if Janny's not kidding) millerforrest is known for some of the worst composed lists ever, and is a toolbox troll in general.
