Re: Minnesota Twins
Morneau 3-3 today with 3 rbi and another homer (3 now for the spring.) Average up to .224
Hughes adds 5th homer of the spring.
Suddenly, their lineup looks much better.
And it needs to be because the pitching staff and defensive alignment leaves much to be desired.

Re: Minnesota Twins
Alright boys. We're 0-3. We've had some great defensive plays but some guys are having lots of trouble getting the bat going. I'm really happy with Morneau so far. Obviously Mauer has been disappointing and we're giving up a lot of runs. I knew pitching wouldn't be our strong suit.

Performance and confidence. I really hope they can turn this around though soon.
FYI - the yanks are 0-3 as well.

I think Perkins could be a solid set-up man or closer, but he won't get much work if our offense keeps playing this way. Plus, I think him and Liriano might be trade bait this year; Liriano's a free agent at the end of the season, and I think the only reason they locked up Perkins with a team-friendly contract was to boost his trade value.

Also we need one ace starter, three more mid rotation guys, and one ace set up man, a couple middle relivers, and possibly a closer to pitch. Meh, I'd be comfortable in taking a Willingham + Doumit bet in offensive production vs. Kubel + Cuddyer at the end of the year. Or at least close enough that it won't be a significant drop off.
Career AVG/OBP/SLG (OPS)
A) .272/.343/.452 (.795)
B) .262/.361/.476 (.837)
Can you pick which was Cuddyer and which is Willingham? Does it matter?
Just to make it more freaky, here is Doumit and Kubel blind resume.
C) .271/.333/.441 (.774)
D) .271/.335/.458 (.793)
Both replacements are virtually identical offensive profiles.
I corrected the rest for you.
A is Cuddy, B Willingham, C Doumit, D Kubel.

Also we need one ace starter and one ace set up man to pitch. Cuddyer and delmon did a lot more for this team than just hit a ball. They were clutch players. I think they can get there, just need some guys to step up.

Re: Minnesota Twins
I think the bats will come around, but the pitching will not be good.

Re: Minnesota Twins
Josh Willingham has 3 HR in 5 games and is batting .353. Obviously he'll slow down a bit, but what a start by him. Let's keep the wins coming.
