Cyclone Baseball
Do you think baseball will ever be a school sponsored sport and compete in the Big 12?

Re: Cyclone Baseball
I do not. I wish, but no.

Re: Cyclone Baseball
Hopefully someday but I doubt it. Especially with the new sports complex being built by the towers. Someone needs to win the lottery and donate the money to the university to start it up. Capp Tim was really one of the most beautiful baseball fields I've ever seen.

I hope not. Waste of money for athletic department to support it.

Re: Cyclone Baseball
the state of Iowa does has the tallent to compete nationally. Its to bad that Iowa has a joke of a program that players have to leave the state to find a team that can compete or play in post season. Off the top of my head I can think of guys at stanford illinois south dakota state two at louisville creighton. not to mention the quality of play in the iowa juco system. You cant tell me that a winning program wouldnt make money

Re: Cyclone Baseball
Hopefully not before a D1 hockey program. Neither will happen though.

Baseball at Iowa State didn't make money before and wouldn't again. There you go.

While this is a very true statement, it is very hard to make money when it costs $0 for fans to go to a game. This is why I am shocked ISU softball still exists. It's free to get in. Simply putting $5/game would bring in SOME money for the program.

Re: Cyclone Baseball
The only sports that make money anywhere are football and men's basketball.
